Mission

Through its work, Nukoko has increased access to primary education in Togo. We work to create effective learning environments by providing students access to school fees, educational resources and supplies. Increased community development and gender equality are some of the results of our work.

Mission: Nukoko’s mission is to support youth in creating an effective learning environment for all globally and to promote equality and empowerment through education.

Objectives: Nukoko works to:

  • Increase awareness of the United Nation’s Development Program’s Millennium Development Goal 2 (to promote gender equality) and Millennium Development Goal 3 (to achieve universal primary education);
  • Empower youth by providing them with the tools and resources necessary to achieve social goals;
  • Engage youth locally and abroad; and
  • Advance community development and capacity building.

Vision

 We believe all human beings have the right to smile, especially children. Universal education is essential to this right. It has immense power to improve a child’s quality of life, as well as contribute to community development.

For example, studies by the World Bank show that educating girls raises their levels of political involvement, results in increased earnings when they join the workforce, and increases the level of nutrition and healthcare mothers provide for their children.

We believe education is essential

We believe in a world where primary education is universally available.

We belive that education provides individuals and communities with the tools of change and empowerment, and that it is therefore a fundamental cornerstone of development.

We believe that focusing on education for girls is important because they are still much less likely than boys to receive primary schooling, and because educating girls means empowering future women.

We believe that through global education initiatives and local grassroots partnerships, we can work towards education for all.
