By introducing health literacy within their primary education curriculum, this program hopes not only to improve the health status of girls in the village of Namaré and their access to education, but also to instill the importance of health literacy as an agent of individual and social development.

The program is currently undergoing an assessment of the most effective tools, techniques and overall feasibility of introducing health literacy within an already established primary curriculum.
